Graduate School Newsletter - February 2012

February 2012

Dean's Message
Gail M. Jensen, Ph.D.
Creighton’s Graduate School enrollment has hit a record high this spring with 992 students. The highest enrollment ever for the Graduate School, the Spring 2012 figure is a 24 percent increase in enrollment from one year ago.

What’s behind the jump? Much of the increase can be attributed to the 425 students enrolled in Creighton’s six online masters programs and one online certificate program. In fact, online students represent 42.8 percent of the total graduate enrollment for spring. Read about some of them in this issue.

Creighton’s President Timothy R. Lannon, S.J., sees continued growth in graduate education as one of several priorities for his new presidency. A critical issue is the need to identify programs that draw upon Creighton’s strength as a comprehensive university and that represent a fit with the University’s mission. Read here about several new programs in the offing and watch for updates in future issues of this newsletter.

Also, remember you can easily stay in touch through our website. And you are always welcome to stop by and meet all of us at the Eppley College of Business Building, Room B11.
