Time to Register for Summer, Fall Classes

Online registration for fall 2012 courses and Summer Sessions begins Monday, March 26. Registration for undergraduate students is as follows: current seniors, March 26 and 27; juniors, March 28-30; sophomores, April 2-4; and freshmen, April 10 and 11. Registration is conducted online through the student's NEST account. Each student receives registration materials, including a specific appointment time for completing registration. Students who have completed registration can view their schedules at any time online. Learn more about Summer Sessions 2012 here.

President Delivers Founders Week Address

Creighton University President Timothy R. Lannon, S.J., delivered his first "State-of-the-University" address during the University's annual Founders Week celebration in February. In the address, Fr. Lannon highlighted Creighton's successes and outlined his plans for the future. Watch a video of the address.

Commencement Set for May 12

Commencement is Saturday, May 12, at the CenturyLink Center Omaha arena. The ceremony for students in nursing, pharmacy and health professions, dentistry and medicine begins at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony for students in arts and sciences, business, EMS education, law and the Graduate School begins at 1 p.m. Graduation brunch will be held Friday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Skutt Student Center, with Baccalaureate Mass to follow at 3 p.m. in the Kiewit Fitness Center. Online Resources for Holy Week

Creighton's Online Ministries offers special features for Holy Week, including an in-depth look at the rituals for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil. These resources, along with daily prayers for Lent, audio conversations and more, are on the Praying Lent website.

Bluejay Basketball Wins Conference Titles

Creighton men's and women's basketball teams won their respective Missouri Valley Conference Tournament titles in March and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Read more about the women's and men's fantastic seasons and watch a video highlight of the men's tournament-title run. Also of note, a Washington Post blog, comparing the colleges in the NCAA Tournament and their student-athlete graduation rates, put Creighton in the Final Four!

Creighton Graduates Find Employment Success

More than 93.5 percent of 2011 Creighton graduates were employed, volunteering or furthering their education within nine months of graduation, according to an annual study by Creighton’s Career Center. The national average reported by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) is about 84 percent. Read More

Creighton University’s student chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu, the intercollegiate Jesuit honor society, inducted 82 students and four faculty and staff members at its annual ceremony in February. See who's on the list.

Financial Aid Deadline Approaching

Applying for Aid
Families are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. Processed FAFSA's received by Creighton by April 1 receive priority consideration. Creighton's Office of Financial Aid will contact students once the FAFSA is received if additional supporting documents are needed. Learn More

Creighton Named Tree Campus USA

Creighton has been named Tree Campus USA for the fourth year in a row. Tree Campus USA, which recognizes colleges and universities for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation, was started in 2008 by the Arbor Day Foundation and Toyota Motor North America, Inc. Women of Excellence Making a Difference

A faculty member, an administrator and a senior student were recognized in February with the Mary Lucretia and Sarah Emily Creighton Award for living Creighton's mission and serving as role models. Creighton Makes President's Honor Roll

Creighton University was recently named to the 2012 U.S. President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, which recognizes colleges and universities for their community service programs and student engagement. Read More

Finals are Coming: Help is Available

Final exam week begins Monday, April 30. You can find the exam schedule here. If your student is in need of extra help, tutoring is available through Creighton's Office of Student Success. Undergraduate students can search online for available tutoring, study groups and academic coaching through the University's BlueTutor system.

Career Center Offers Many Resources

Students looking for part-time employment or internships over the summer or students wanting to polish their resumes and interview skills to land that first big job after graduation can find many of the resources they need online or in person through the Creighton Career Center

Creighton Launches Redesigned Home Page

Creighton University recently launched a newly redesigned home page for its website. The new site allow visitors to find information quickly based on their relationship with Creighton. Check out the new site today.

A Video Message of Gratitude

Ken and Mary Schaefer, parents of 2009 graduate Joe Schaefer, wrote to fellow Creighton parents last fall. Joe, who works as an auditor at a nationally recognized accounting firm, shares his successes in a video message. None of this would have been possible, he says, without the gifts of many Creighton parents. Today, Joe gives back to Creighton in gratitude. See Joe’s video message.
