Mary Pat Statz McCarthyMary Pat Statz McCarthy distinguished herself early as a student in Creighton University’s College of Business. Today she is the highest-ranking woman in the accounting profession.

Mary Pat is the vice chair and global line of business chair of KPMG’s Information, Communication and Entertainment practice based in Silicon Valley. In this position, she leads a team of more than 300 assurance and tax partners in serving some of the most dynamic firms in the country, including Adobe, Apple, Informix, Macromedia, Microsoft and Motorola.

Her extensive experience includes involvement in Solectron’s acquisition of IBM’s manufacturing business in Bordeaux, France; Siebel’s acquisition of Scopus; and Motorola’s acquisition of General Instruments.

Mary Pat is the author and co-author of several books including Security Transformation: Digital Defense Strategies to Protect Your Company’s Reputation and Market Share; also the best selling Digital Transformation — The Essentials of e-Business Leadership; and Agile Business for Fragile Times. She is frequently quoted in the New York Times, Business Week and professional journals. She is widely sought as a speaker at industry forums and as a guest on television and radio shows.

Mary Pat serves on the Digital Divide Task Force of the World Economic Forum, which explores creative ways to engage stakeholders worldwide in dialogue and action to bridge the global digital divide.

In her community, Mary Pat is on the board of the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. She also has been on the board of the Leavey Graduate School of Business at Santa Clara University.

Loyal to Creighton, Mary Pat has been an active member of the San Jose Alumni Chapter, serving on its board and as its president. In 2000, she was a part of the College’s Executive-in-Residence program.

Mary Pat is married to Kevin J. McCarthy, BSBA’75. They have three children: Alexandra, Maggie and Connor. For high achievement, dedication and service to her profession, community and alma mater, Creighton University proudly confers the 2002 Alumni Merit Award for the College of Business upon Ms. Mary Pat Statz McCarthy.
